When we intentionally consider what influence can accomplish and the reputation that is required to fuel that personal resource, we have to ask deep questions about our beliefs and the models we practice as leaders.
Very few leaders ever ask themselves that vital question about what kind of reputation they actually want from their career. So much energy is put into doing, but little thought is given to what the model of their practice will deliver them for the long game.
Our model, and therefore our belief system, determines our outcomes and thus our reputation and the resulting influence.
We must take a step back and spend time considering this simple yet hugely impactful idea of “what I wish to be known for”.
